Welcome to Booderee National Park and Botanic Gardens

Booderee National Park is owned by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and has always been a significant place for Koori people. It has provided sustenance and shelter for its Indigenous inhabitants over hundreds of generations.

'Booderee' is an Aboriginal word from the Dhurga language meaning 'bay of plenty' or 'plenty of fish'.

The Park is an ideal place to see an abundance of flowering plants and animals in heath, forest and coastal tea-tree habitats. Booderee's marine environment is one of the most diverse recorded in temperate Australia. It supports and protects both tropical and temperate marine species in exceptionally clear waters.

A major visitor destination, Booderee has stunning white beaches and offers a wide range of recreational activities, including walking trails, surfing, fishing, camping, boating, sailing, snorkelling and diving. Our large campsites provide opportunities for school groups and families to stay in the Park and experience our magnificent natural and cultural heritage.
