State of the environment (SoE) reporting
In Australia, state of the environment (SoE) reporting occurs at both the national and state/territory level.
State of the Environment 2011 Committee being established
The Department is seeking expressions of interest in membership on the SoE 2011 Committee. Submissions will close 18 January 2009.
National SoE reporting
National SoE reports provide information about environmental and heritage conditions, trends and pressures for the Australian continent, surrounding seas and Australia's external territories.
SoE reporting themes
National SoE reports are based on data and information gathered and interpreted against environmental indicators. For convenience environmental indicators have been grouped into environmental themes. These environmental themes are known as the SoE reporting themes.

State/territory SoE reporting
Most states and territories of Australia produce SoE reports. State and territory government web sites have information about their reporting processes.
